Approached by OURPRVTPRTY to help conceptualize a new identity for music-sharing site This Song Is Sick, this look and feel was born from personal familiarity with European record labels that also started from the ground up. They share the same vibes as TSIS: open, accessible, contemporary, while maintaining a refined branding that is distinctly urban and that fans want to show their support for.
With the inspiration mentioned prior, I developed a logo with impact of form. This option utilizes the established iconography of equalizer levels while simultaneously imbuing it with the additional connotations of exclamation points (relaying the sense of hype, energy, and audial communication tied into TSIS).
The alternate logo carries the same aspects as the EQ logo while combining the concepts of “word of mouth” and transportable sound.
